Ambassador Endurance Master Open in Verona won by Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum

June 11 Verona, Italy~ On June 11, with the aid of Umbria Endurance,
the 2011 edition of  VALEGGIO SUL MINCIO  took place in the Parco Giardino Sigurtà of Valeggio sul Mincio near Verona, Italy .

The prestigious event was highlighted by the  FEI Garda Ambassador Endurance Master Open on a June day that hosted four competitions: a CEI3* of 160 km ( the only one in North Italy during 2011) a CEI2* of 120 km a CEIYJ2* 120 km for young riders and a CEI1* of 90 km with seventy horse/rider combinations in all ride categories.


The CEI2* 123.2 k , Endurance Master Open was hotly contested by 50 endurance riders from seven countries.  Victory and BC went to UAE rider, Sh Mohd B. Rashid Al Maktoum, riding Acadienne who finished with an average ride speed of 19.5kph.  Number two was Sh Rashid Dalmook Al Maktoum riding the indomitable Kangoo D’Aurabelle.  After having led for the first 3 loops, Ali Saif Al Ketbi finished third riding Nikos.  Italy’s Diana Origgi riding Sassifraga Della Bosan was fourth and Spain’s Jaume Punti Dachs rode the Selle Francais, Mystic, into  fifth. All five riders finished within nano seconds.  Sh Juma Dalmook Al Maktoum, riding as a Young Rider was 5 minutes later on Nadhira with seventh finish,Mohammed Ali Rashed Al Abbar on Mitjons.  The eighth rider, Pier Federico Fileni riding Rovo Della Bosana arrived 40 minutes later. The last rider to finsh, number 21, was Italian, Giuseppe Ducci on Gioia, who arrived  almost 3 hours after the winning finish time.  Argentinean rider, Mercedes Tapia came in 17th on Care to Go and Germany’s Carola Wolfinger rode Delfinella to 18th.  This ride is viewed as an important pre ride to the September European Championships to be held in Florac, France.

The 160K CEI3* was contested by Italy and France had  30 starters and  11 to finish.  First and BC went to Emanuele Fondi of Italy riding Felicidad who finished at 17:56 with an average ride speed of 16.6kph.  Number two, five minutes later was Frank Lance from France riding the grey Shagya, Ouliakowa. Silvia Scapin from Italy came in third riding Santoreggia one minute later.

The final and  11th rider to finish, Carolo Di Battista riding Gogo arrived arrived 2.5 hours after the winning time.

The CEI 1* 98.6 km  entered   23 riders from Argentina, Switzerland, and France and finished 13.  Taking first was Italy’s Elena Lanfranchi riding Haida Di Pegaso,  who finished with an average ride speed of 17.28kph.  Gianfranco Benedetto riding Eraldy arrived sixteen minutes later followed five minutes later by Manuel Bontempi on Shamir  for third and BC.  Fourth to finish was Francesco Fabbro riding Arabel, then Carlo Zafferri riding Palaz de Faluzins.  The 13th and final rider across the line almost three hours later was Swiss rider, Nadine Brennwald on  Aswad Rafiq CH.

The CEIYJ2* 123.2km  started 14 riders with 8 to finish.  BC and first in was Dario Fondi riding SDP Gazzarah with an average ride speed of 15.657.  He was followed in 19 minutes later by Maria Feola riding Grigali.   Emanuele Chiodi  was third on  Exkalibur.  Serena Fratini rode in eighth on Lakbir Al Gilpaka an hour after the winning time.
