Arabian Racing comes to Churchill Downs

Churchill Downs, Louisville, KY ~ Founded in 1874, Churchill Downs fabled Twin Spires have become synonymous worldwide with the finest traditions of horse racing. On June 18, 2011, Arabians will run over the world’s most legendary racetrack, under the sponsorship of the UAE Presidents Cup series for Purebred Arabian horses.

Opening this hallowed ground to the Arabian breed , the forefathers of such legends as Man O War, Native Dancer and Secretariat, is the highest compliment ever paid to the Purebred Arabian race horse in the USA.

This special race day offers four Thoroughbred stakes races highlighted by the Gr 1 Stephen Foster (sponsored by Abu Dhabi); the 2nd richest stakes race under the Twin Spires and The Gr 1 UAE Presidents Cup Stakes for Purebred Arabians.

The Etihad Airways Formula 1 car will be on display, the Emirati-style tent will welcome race goers with its warm Arabian hospitality and a drawing for a 5 star trip to Abu Dhabi will make your day at this historic race track unforgetable.

Churchill Downs hosts its 137th running of America’s greatest race, The Kentucky Derby, on the first Saturday in May. The Breeders’ Cup World Championships has been hosted a record 7 times at this revered track and returns again on Nov 4th and 5th of this year.

The UAE Presidents Cup, Churchill Downs and the Arabian Jockey Club of the USA invite one and all to come join in the festivities on Saturday, June 18, 2011, at one of the most hallowed shrines in American sport. Be a part of history. Come race or watch what is thought to be the oldest purebred horse in the world leave it’s hoof prints and it’s images, on the hallowed track and hearts of all race goers, beneath the legendary Twin Spires.
