Arapahoe Park Arabian Racing, Aurora, Colorado

May 28 Aurora, Colorado ~  The mixed card at the Mile High Arapahoe Park sees Thoroughbred, Quarter Horse and Arabian races in a day’s meet.

The start of the season on May 28 gave Arabians the first race for the Maiden Special Weight for Arabian 3 yr olds and Up Fillies and Mares, five and a half furlongs.

Another Tyme  (Virgule Al Maury x Justonetime) swept to 1st from a slow start on a fast track for a 1:14:19 finish and a piece of the $5,800 purse.  The 2007 filly, owned by Ray Teutsch, was ridden by Carl Williams and was chased home by stablemate, Dirlayy, ridden by Travis Wales.  TSS Miazoune early set the pace but gave way and finished  3rd, TTT Miss Malabarking never moved from 4th, My Friend Bee slid to 5th, and Name This Tune did not race the field.

May 29 Third Race – Allowance for 3 Yr Old and Up Fillies and Mares

Six furlongs Dirt   Purse: $8,700

TM Super Bird ( Burning Sand x Heaven Kan Wait) with Adrian Ramos up took the early lead and never saw a serious challenge from the field of six.  Owned by the Teutsch/Hammad Partnership, the mare’s winning time was 1:17:40.  Sole Dancer staked her claim early on 2nd and held her ground. The final saw Lori Anne almost four lengths back for 3rd, Doranikaa 4th, Chnkira five lengths back for 5th, and TTT Dark Diamond steadily faded to finish 6th.

May 30, Arabians were back with the 6th race, an Allowance for Arabian Three Year old and Upward

Six Furlongs Purse: $8,700

Dancers Traveler (Line Dancer x Diamonnd Lady by Monarch AH) ridden by Adrian Ramos and owned by Billy Glosser positioned early in second then found his stride in the stretch to win by over a length with a time of 1:19:33.  Second was the oddly named, Clunk, ridden by Don Frazier who made a brave bid but ran out of track and was chased home by SE Bunker Buster.  Status Symboll gave up another length for 4th place, and 5th, Three T Tax Man, never was a factor.  Oh My Goodness took sixth, Abbott, after running half way in 1st, faded in the stretch to finish in 7th, and IBN Fiddlin was simply outrun on this day.
