Compiegne, France sees weekend action in Spring Endurance Festival

   May 28 Compiegne, France   ~ The CEIO 2* Junior and Young Rider Championship 120 km proved a winner for Qatar’s Faleh Nasser Bughenaim, as he advanced from eighth to take over first place in the final loup and finish in a ride time of 5:48:46 riding In Situ.  Bughenaim’s average speed was 20.919.  France’s Lucie Marin finished second on Lamiah El Oued, two seconds later quickly followed by Romain Persicot for France who found a quick third on Haissa not two minutes off the lead.

The top ten riders rode as a pack for the first four loops led by Lea Volger on Al Abjar who finished in fifth just 3.5 minutes off the leader. At the end of the day, the top nine riders to cross the line were still within 6 minutes of the winning time. The 120 km ride entered 33 and completed 19 riders that finished the ride within one hour of Bughenaim’s win.

Sunday’s CEI 2 *120 km was won by Spain’s Javier Cervera riding Lavish in a ride time of 5:51:45 with an average speed of 20.52.  Omani rider, Ahmed Salim Mohamed Al Hamdani came in second by a nose riding Frimeur des Pins with Sabrina Arnold closing fast within a horse’s length for third on Quedfik La Majorie.  Riders from Spain, Oman, Germany, France made up the field of 82 which finished 42, the last rider in a little over 2 hours from the winning time.

The Spring edition of the Festival Mondial d’Endurance in Compiegne had many top names including past Championship riders  Philippe Benoit riding Akim Du Boulve, who finished in 7th place, and Jack Begaud riding Pragmatique du Moulin who came in tenth.

13 Countries had entries in all divisions of the Festival which also included a CEI 1* 100Km on Saturday, May 28
