March 1, 2013 ~ From Ed Wilson, President of TABA ~Texas Arabian Breeders Association (TABA) extends a warm welcome to all horse enthusiasts and racing fans visiting our wonderful state of Texas. The importance of Texas Arabian horse breeding reaches worldwide, and we always invite you to visit some of our member farms when you are in the state so you can see why with your own eyes. TABA membership has grown nationally as Arabian horse owners come from all parts of the United states to race their horses in Texas.

Texas is delighted to be chosen once again as the site for the Darley Awards ceremony, and also the venue for very important stakes at one of our three Class 1 horse racing tracks. On March 9,  Sam Houston Race Park will host races of the HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Flat Racing Festival on the Darley weekend. This Cup is an important Grade 2 event offering a purse of $30,000 added. The HH Sheikha Fatima Mubarak Ladies IFAHR Cup runs with a $25,000 estimated purse. This race thoughtfully pays purse money to every entry, and all horses are to be ridden by amateur riders which are invited members of (IFAHR)

We appreciate the kind support of Festival Director and head of IFAHR Ladies racing, Lara Sawaya, for bringing these races to Texas and holding the Darley Awards in our state. And we thank His Highness Sheikh Mansoor Bin Al Zayed Nahyan and HH Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak for their generous commitment to the Arabian horse and all who are involved. Our goals to promote Arabian horse breeding and racing in Texas are complimented by their spectacular events that brings attention to the Arabian horse around the world.
