Ladies Endurance Cup in Abu Dhabi kicks of December rides

 November  30, 2011, Abu Dhabi, UAE~The H.H Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Endurance Cup at the Emirates International Endurance Village scheduled for December 1 proves female sport in the country is growing fast.

Adnan Al Nuaimi, the General Manager of Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club said that it will be the most expensive ladies endurance race ever staged, with a total prize fund of Dh800,000, Dh200,000 of which will be given to the winner.“It’s good to support women’s sport, you need women to compete in their sport, whether it’s horse racing or other sports. This will push girls to come, to ride, to compete,” he said.

The race will begin at 06:30 at Al Wathba, where 60 riders will compete over the four-stage 100km race, which is exclusively for women from Arab countries.

The H.H Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Flat Racing Festival, who are presenting the race under the instruction of H.H Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, also announced plans to hold the event on an annual basis.
