Qatar and France Galop Sign New Sponsorship Agreement Increasing Prize Money

Qatar  May 12~ Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club (QREC) has entered into a new sponsorship agreement with France Galop which  further strengthens the ties between the groups and also reaffirms the strong commitment by QREC towards promoting Pure Arabian racing in France.

According to the new sponsorship agreement, QREC has increased the prize money of two races for Pure Arabian horses including the prestigious Qatar Arabian World Cup during the weekend of Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe and also sponsors four trial races for Pure Arabian horses.
The new signing of agreement increases the total prize money by Euros 325,000 from this year.
The prestigious Qatar Arabian World Cup – Group I will now see prize money of Euros 500,000 from Euros 430,000. Qatar Arabian World Cup will be run on October 2, 2011.
The prize money for Qatar Arabian Trophy Mares Group I for Fillies (four-year-olds only) has been increased from Euros 100,000 to 150,000. This race takes place on October 1.
Also QREC will be sponsoring four trial races for Pure Arabian horses for three and four-year-olds.
On July 3, in Chantilly, Qatar Coupe de France des Pur Sang Arabes, Group I carries purse of Euros 50,000. Al Rayyan Cup, Group I will be run on August 9 in Deauville, with total prize money of Euros 50,000. Both these races are for three-year-olds.
For four-year-olds, there are two races on August 12 in Deauville and on September 11 in Longchamp.
Doha Cup, Group I race with prize money of Euros 50,000 will take place on August 12 while Euros 25,000 worth Qatar Cup for Group II horses will be on September 11.
Besides the prize money, the winners of these four trial races will take part in the 2012 edition of the prestigious H H The Emir’s Sword race in Doha.
In addition to these four victorious horses, the two triumphant from Coupe d’Europe des Chevaux Arabes (June 26 in Saint Cloud) and Prix Cheri Bibi (September 3, Craon) will also feature in H H The Emir’s Sword race in March, 2012.
