Second Edition of World Arabian Racing Conference Set for June

Den Haag ~The second edition of the World Arabian Horse Racing Conference is scheduled for June 16 to 18, in Den Haag (The Hague).

   The Netherlands press conference announcement was led by Sami Al Bunain, Chairman of the International Federation for Arabian Horses  (IFAHR), Deputy Chair Mohammed Al Adhab, WJ de Ruiter, IFAHR Treasurer, Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Director of Communications for Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage, (ADACH), Lara Sawaya, Director of  Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Racing Festival and Sahmma Al Ketbi, representing the General Women’s Union Ladies Fegentri Cup.

   Building on the 2010 Abu Dhabi venue, the three-day 2011 Conference is expected to receive input from over 100 experts, scientists and veterinarians and will invite 32 speakers involved in breeding, training and racing. Sami Al Bunain said, “The first conference was to exchange ideas between veterinarians, trainers and owners.  We learned from the expertise of others.  That conference had good ideas and a good response.”

   “Day three will have a workshop for the speakers which will give an opportunity for discussion and feedback about the future of Arabian horses and Arabian horse racing,” said Lara Sawaya, Conference Director.

   The Conference will be followed on the 19th by a day of Arabian races at the Duindight Race Track.  Included in that venue will be The Ladies’ Fegentri race with the support of H H Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak.
