The Enduring Arabian horse

November 2, 2012 ~All Thoroughbreds have as ancestors the Arabian horse. While Thoroughbreds have now been bred to be the fastest horse, Arabian horse racing is enjoying a renaissance. The Arabian is a hardy horse, once used as a steed for battle, the mount of choice for Napoleon Bonaparte. An elegant horse, showing in hand is popular, but he is unmatched for distance races, and the hands-down favorite for endurance. Popular for his agility, he is the mount of choice for many to gather cattle, and as a Sporthorse he excels in jumping and dressage.
