September 16, Fairplex, California~ Viribe, under jockey, Chris Russell, led the field of nine to win the 6 furlong Wathba Stud Farm Cup Arabian Allowance at the Fairplex track on Friday in a time of 1:08:62. With the lucky Post Poslition 1 in the first race of the day, Viribe ( Virgule Al Maury x Glebe x Samtyr) took the rail and calling the speed, edged away from the pack finishing first by a length. He was chased to the wire by Effie Estes, who finished second under Eswan Flores. Proudd Pruf with Jorge Herrer up, came in third.
The Wathba Stud Farm Cup is one of the series of five California races supported by the Sh Mansoor bin Zayed Al Nayhan Global Arabian Flat Racing Festival. The final race in the series will be held on October 8 in Fresno.
