Wathba Stud Farm Cup race in Pleasanton, California on Saturday  

   June 24, Pleasanton, CA.~A field of seven runners has entered for the Wathba Stud Farm Cup race to be held at the Pleasanton race course on Saturday, June 25, 2011.
The race, part of the HH Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Flat Racing Festival, aims at promoting Purebred Arabian racing at the grassroots level and is the first ever Wathba Stud Farm Cup race to be held in the US after the success it has received in countries like Holland, Poland, Sweden and the UK this year.
Le Fromage, NC Casey Jones, Ordination, Otis, Quick Sand PW, So Big Is Better and Velite Star are the seven runners in the race to be run on the dirt track to make a debut for the HH Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Flat Racing Festival in California.
“This is the first of the five races that will be run in the Wathba Stud Farm Cup race series in the US and we are very happy with the response to this first-ever race in the state of California,” said Mr. Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Director of Communications of Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH).
Stephen Bowey, Executive Director of Invest AD, said, “This is another first for the HH Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Flat Racing Festival to be racing in California in the US and we are proud to be part of it.”

Mirna Youness of La Sirene said, “Last week it was the HH Shaikha Fatma Bint Mubarak Ladies Fegentri Cup race that put UAE and its lady jockeys in the spotlight and this week the Festival moves forward in the US. I am happy to be part of this endeavor.”
The HH Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Flat Racing Festival’s Wathba Stud Farm Cup races are staged with support from Invest AD, Areej Al Ameerat, La Sirene, the UAE’s General Women’s Union, Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition 2011,Wathba Stud Farm and Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club.
