ARO is delighted to announce the introduction of a dedicated Breeders’ Race as part of the Wathba Stud Farm Cup Series held under the HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival.
This celebrated series of 21 races, organised worldwide by The Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage, aims to encourage local and UAE breeding of Arabian horses whilst simultaneously promoting Arabian racing around the globe. Races in 2011 will be held in Switzerland, Holland and California in addition to Sweden, Poland & now, for the first time, the UK.
The UK Breeders’ Cup, due to be held at Newbury Racecourse on Thursday 9th June 2011, has a prize fund of £5,000. Whilst race conditions are still under review, the race is likely to target smaller owners & breeders of horses local to the UK. Full race conditions will be published in Part 2 of the ARO Racing Calendar. More information will be available shortly on the ARO Website (www.aroracing.co.uk).
ARO Racing Manager, Antonia Newman, commented: “We are very grateful for this unique opportunity to support local British breeders & private owners who already contribute & invest so much in the development of Arabian Racing. The Wathba Stud Farm Cup Series is a very unique concept and we look forward to working with Sheikh Mansoor’s representatives to make this race an exciting feature in 2011.”
