25 June 2016, Amsterdam, The Netherlands ~ The Netherlands Duindigt race course in The Hague will stage three races for Purebred Arabian horses including the deciding leg of the Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Cup European Triple Crown on Sunday, 26 June, 2016. The three races under the Festival of HH Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayed Al Nahyan are the Wathba Stud Farm Cup II, the HH Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies World Championship race, and the final leg of the three-leg European Triple Crown in the Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Cup race series.

Euro Triple Crown

Ameretto took the Euro Triple Crown win four times in the last four years, but 2016 will see a new Champion in this premier Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Cup race series. The hot favorite for 2016 is Ziyadd, a 4-year-old bred-to-run colt by Bibi de Carrere out of Kahayla Classic winner Mizzna, trained by Antoine Watrigant for owner HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Ziyadd finished fourth in the first leg of the high-point series in Toulouse, France, then won the second leg in Rome, Italy, now leading the pack with 13 points. In second place in points is Lightning Bolt with 7 points after his second place in Toulouse, while Sir Bani Yas has 6 points after a third place finish in the Toulouse race.

All three in contention will be out to take the top points with a win to carry home the €50,000 bonus and the title of European Triple Crown winner and Ziyadd just needs to finish in the top four to clinch it.
