Adrei de Vries rides to double wins in Doha

sm30GROUPJanuary 30, 2013, Doha ~Jockey Adrie de Vries had a double by riding Al Aamash and Trompettiste to victories. Al Aamash (Kalbarq x Espiri Bint Elina) won the opening race, the Local Bred Pure Arabian Maiden Plate – and two races later De Vries returned to steer Trompettiste to win the Thoroughbred Handicap contest for horses rated 60 to 80.

In the Pure Arabian Handicap contest for horses rated 40 to 70, Osama Al Dhafa trained Vit’Al Fauquey (Munjiz x Blood Pressure) won with jockey Sylvain Ruis in the saddle in a field of 10. Saint De Faust pulled in second by 1/2 length shadowed by Shaklan, who found his finish in third.

Al Uraiq (Nizam x Ninou De Carrere) was up against seven good opponents in the Pure Arabian Stakes race over 1,100m. The five-year-old bay with Darren Williams up took the race under control down the backstretch, putting a fine point on the win in the stretch from the field of eight winning in a time of 1:13:08.
