November 21, 2012, Abu Dhabi ~ The World Arabian Horse Racing Conference France 2013 will be officially announced at the Paris JW Marriott Champs Elysees at 12 noon on 12.12.12, it was confirmed on Wednesday.
According to Lara Sawaya, director of the HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Flat Racing Festival and Head of IFAHR Ladies Racing, the conference is scheduled to take place from June 6 to 8, 2013 at the Pierre Baude Centre of Congress, Toulouse, France and finishes with the Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Cup and HH Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies World Championship (IFAHR) at the Toulouse Hippodrome on July 9, 2013.
Speaking to newsmen at the Abu Dhabi Mangroves Hotel, the official hotel of the HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Flat Racing Festival, Sawaya said: “Regarding the preparations for the 2013 of HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Flat Racing Festival Darley Awards and the HH Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Darley Awards, application forms will be distributed to the 24 member countries to be duly completed and returned to the judges who will commence their job as from January 2, 2013.
“Registration for the Awards closes by December 31, 2012 and the nominees will be declared accordingly,” she confirmed.
The HH Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Darley Awards for women associated with Arabian racing around the globe and for the ‘Best Mare’ have added a new dimension to the sport of Purebred Arabian racing.
The Award is a global recognition and recognizes the most outstanding racehorses, jockeys, owners, trainers and breeders of the Arabian horse racing community.
The judges are: Mubarak Al Muhairi (UAE), Noora Al Suweidi (UAE), Lulwa Alawadi (Bahrain), Dr. Wadouda Badran (Egypt), Sami Al Boueinen (Qatar), Brigadier Abdelrazak Shahwarzi (Oman), Denise Gault (USA), Richard Lancaster (UK), Yves Plantin (France), Issam Abdul la (UAE), Lara Sawaya(UAE), and Haneke Brand (technical coordinator).
The HH Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Flat Racing Festival which is organized by the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority and co-ordinated by Abu Dhabi Sports Council in association with Emirates Racing Authority, IFAHR and Emirates Arabian Horse Society, supported by General Authority for Youth and Sports Welfare and Fegentri with Emirates airlines as the official carrier and sponsored by Invest AD, Al Rashid Investment, Areej Al Ameerat, Mauzan, Al Awani General Enterprises, Kabale, the UAE’s General Women’s Union, the HH Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy, Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition 2012, Dr. Nader Saab Switzerland, Wathba Stud Farm and Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club.
