Baden-Baden ready to welcome International top field on Sunday June 5

    Iffezheim, 3 June 2011 – Ten Arabian Purebreds will come to the start on Sunday 5 June, for the sixth and last meeting day of the Spring meeting at the Iffezheim race course.

The President of the United Arab Emirates Cup, with a total purse of €40,000, is a Group II race for 4 year and older Arabian Purebreds. “We are pleased and very proud that such a high quality and international field will meet,“ said Baden-Baden racing director Dr. Benedict Forndran and he explained: “Racing with Arabian Purebreds knows a longstanding tradition in Iffezheim and are by now a permanent part of the important racing days. Just like the Arc Day at Longchamp, Paris which is sponsored by Qatar“.

5yr old Raihan, owned by Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Thani, the former Prime minister of Qatar, will be among the quality participants.

About Baden Racing
The Spring meeting, from 28 May to 5 June, is the first of three meetings which Baden Racing will organize this year on the race course Iffezheim, near Baden-Baden and it comprises of six racing days. Whereas The President of the United Arab Emirates Cup is one of the high points for the Arabian Purebreds, the sportive climax for the English Throughbreds will be the Preis der Badischen Unternehmen, a Group II, which is bound to attract an international field of participants too.
The Grosse Woche, The Great Week, is one of Baden-Badens summer highlights; this racing festival takes place from 27 August – 4 September, followed by the Sales & Racing Festival on 8 and 9 October.

With 14 racing days, 12 Group races and a total prize money of 2.5 Million, Euros Baden-Baden is one of the most important and largest racing organisations in Germany.
The history of racing goes way back in Baden-Baden, the first race at Iffezheim was organized in 1858; Baden Racing is the operational organisation since June 2010 and is a joint venture with the international company Sportmarketing-Agentur Infront Sports & Media AG as the larger stakeholder, as well as DSV Deutscher Sportverlag GmbH (Cologne), Stars and Friends GmbH (Bad Harzburg) and Weiss media GmbH (Meerbusch).
