Speaking at a press conference held at the Abu Dhabi Exhibition Centre, Ms Lara Sawaya, Director of H.H.Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Flat Racing Festival announced the third edition of the World Arabian Horse Racing Conference. She said: “After successfully hosting the first and second world conferences in Abu Dhabi and Duindigit, respectively, the third edition of the conference will be held over three days from June 7-9, 2012 in Berlin,”
“We are happy to host it in Berlin as it is a big city with a tradition of hosting Purebred Arabian racing. I would like to thank H.H. Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs for providing us all the support for staging the conference,” she added.
She also said to strike a balance between the three race series the Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Fagentri Cup has been increased from two to nine and Sheikh Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Cup from nine to 10 and new venues have been in included in the Wathba Stud Farm Cup.
The press conference was attended by Mats Genberg, secretary of International Federation of Arabian Horse Racing (IFAHR), Essam Abdullah of Emirates Arabian Horse Society (EAHS), Stephen Bowey, executive director (marketing) Invest AD, Adnan Sultan Al Nuaimi, director general of Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club (ADEC), Talal Al Hashmi of Abu Sports Council (ADSC) and Peter Banzhaf, on behalf of Drav (German Racing Association of Arabian Horses).
“With many experts, scientists and vets along with many speakers in the equine fields as well as horse breeders, owners and trainers, attending the conference, the three-day function is expected to discuss many topics related Arabian horse and Arabian horse racing and find solutions, “ said Abdullah adding the Abu Dhabi event three years ago laid the foundation for it
Bowey said: “We are proud to be associatd with the Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Flat Racing Festival and World Arabian Horse Racing Conference as it gives a chance to increase togetherness under one umbrella to discuss various topics related to Arabian horse racing”
Adnan Sultan Al Nuaimi said:” On Oct. 30 Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club will host both the Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Cup and Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Fegentri Cup.
