California, USA, Arabian Racing Opens in June

2020 Race Dates and Venues

16 June 2020, California – In a lengthy TeleConference meeting on 11 June 2020, the California Horse Racing Board (CHRB) approved the California horse racing dates which include the dates for Arabian racing already confirmed by the California Authority of Racing Fairs (CARF).

The COVID-19 risk to health has instigated some compromised race dates and venues that will be in play for only the race year 2020. There will be no California Fairs at these venues in 2020.

* 17 June – 14 July.  Racing will open at the Alameda Fair Grounds at Pleasanton.
The Pleasanton barns and track have opened in June.

* 15 July – 28 July. The race dates for Cal Expo at Sacramento will be held at Pleasanton.

*29 July – 11 August. Race dates for Santa Rosa at Golden Gate Fields (GGF).

* Ferndale (Humboldt County) race dates are still being decided.

* 7 October – 20 October. Fresno races will run at Fresno.
