January 03, 2013, Qatar ~ Al Mafiar Cup
On the second day of racing in the new year, La Hoor scored another great win for Qatar. He won the 1200m race ridden by Mark Lawson with Mogida in 2nd and Shakeemah in third. The Burning Sand son owned by Hassan Al Matwi (shown in photo below)has had an excellent record in races from 1200 – 1600m, with five wins and one second.
The P/A Maiden Plate of 1400m was won by the Alban de Mieulle trained Raddad (Amer x Djelmila) and ridden by David Bouland in a pack of 15 horses. Raddad pulled ahead in the final stretch and won going away.

January 2, 2013, ~Al Jassasiya Cup Day, there were two Arabian races on the card
In the Local Bred Pure Arabian Stakes, the Yousef Bentaher trained Arkan Al Naif (Amer -x Midjal) towered over the rest of the pack. Stephane Ladjadj was in the saddle as Arkan Al Naif gained victory by nine lengths. This made a double for Ladjadj after he had ridden Ziraya to win earlier.

Earlier saw Ziraya (Dormane -x Diraia) ridden by Stephan Ladjadj and trained by H Aashoor win the PA Handicap in the time of 1:14:44
