HH Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Nations Ladies Cup CEI 2*
It was heartbreak for the UAE lady rider Alyazia Al Romaithi in the HH Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Nations Ladies Cup as the lead changed several times in the final stage before the dash to the finish.
The ladies ride was one of the most hotly-contested events of the day, and as the final three crossed the finish line after negotiating the 120-km distance, just two seconds separated the top three.
Denmark’s Merethe Neland on 11-year-old Paragon managed to overcome the ride of the UAE’s Al Romaithi on 10-year-old Holoutaria who finished Silver, and in close third for Bronze was France’s Virginia Atger on Quersane Des Pins.
Merethe Neland and Paragon completed the 120-km distance in a time of 6:28:06 with Alyazia and Atger each finishing one second behind the other. The next rider to come in was five minutes behind the leaders.
The BEEM event was held at the Bois de la Cambre, an urban public park situated on the edge of the Sonian Forests in the Belgian capital of Brussels.
