July 13, 2012, Germany ~ The latest addition to the advance of horse racing in the world is the partnership with the European Association of Racing Schools (EARS) and the H.H. Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Gobal Arabian Flat Racing Festival. In a recent announcement, the group’s Director, Lara Sawaya, also head of IFAHR Ladies Racing, announced that the H.H. Sheikh Mansoor Global Arabian Festival will sponsor the 2013 EARS World Conference and be called the H.H. Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak EARS Conference on Education and Training.
Susanna Santesson, President of EARS said, “Founded in 2000, the main purpose of EARS was to increase the level of education in the racing industry (education and training of jockeys and stable staff) and to find a common level. Much has happened in the meantime, including the exchange of tutors e.g. French teachers of the school went to Ireland, or English to Germany or Italy etc. to learn about their means of education and training.”
“Special courses of different levels have been developed and special examinations as well to guarantee the best education. For the last two years we have been talking about a symposium to exchange our opinions and experiences with other countries. To have an international conference should bring an additional boost to education and training and especially bring more attention to this subject.”
“Since the beginning each year we have organized an international apprentice jockey race with two or three participants of each school. This year our General Meeting took place in Chantilly in France and on the big racing day of the Prix de Diane we organized an apprentice race with 15 runners (3 riders from each school). This was sponsored by Longines and was a very successful and good race.”
The H.H.Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak EARS World Conference on Education and Training 2013 will include the H.H. Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak EARS Apprentice Jockey Race.
