April 11, 2013, Casablanca,Morocco ~ Ten amateur lady riders will enter the Casablanca-Anfa HH Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies World Championship over 9.5 F on April 12 for purse of Moroccan Dh200,000 ($24,000). Nominated Entries below.
Ten lady riders competing on Purebred Arabians will represent their countries as they vie for the win in the third edition of the 2013 HH Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies World Championship (IFAHR) series to be held at the Casablanca-Anfa Racecourse on Friday, April 12. This is the second time they have brought this Championship to Morocco, the first having run on May 4, 2012, on the International Day of Purebred Arabians. This year’s race will be held during the 6th edition of the Day of the Grand Prix de Son Altesse Royale le Prince Héritier Moulay El Hassan.
The UAE ambassador to Morocco, Alsari Saeed Al Dhahri, praised the support of the The Ladies’ Championship, which is held under the umbrella of the HH Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Racing Festival.
Speaking to newsmen at the Casablanca Grand Hayatt on Thursday, Al Dhahri said: “Holding the fourth round of the Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies Championship (IFAHR) for the second year in Morocco is of great essence for the women sports in the world in general and within the UAE and the Arab world in particular.”
Lara Sawaya, director of the Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Flat Racing Festival and head of women races at IFAHR, announced that six to seven newsmen and photographers will be drawn on the race day to attend and cover the upcoming World Arabian Horse Conference 2013’ in Toulouse, France in June as gesture of appreciation from the festival to the continued backing and support of the Moroccan media.
Rashid Waleed Waleed Al Ardha addressed the attendance on behalf of the Emirates Airline and Adnan Sultan, director general of the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club highlighted the contribution of the festival to the development and promotion of the women sports in general and the UAE culture in particular.
Dr. Wadooda Badran, advisor of the Arab Women Organization and Lolowa Al Wadhi, member of the Bahraini Consultative Council praised the initiative of HH Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Mother of the UAE, in advancing the role of the Arab women in the public life.
