February 19, Täby, Sweden ~ The Samsheik son, Joshua Brown (out of FH Honey Melon)added yet another victory to his CV, when he just pipped Al Raai in the final race of the winter season at Täby, Sweden.
The track was false with patches of frozen ground in between the sloppy going and one had to carefully choose ones way around. The race was run over a mile and Al Raai, who is normally considered a sprinter, set the pace and obviously found a path to suit him, as he almost managed a pillar-to-post win. Joshua Brown and Sakba were at his heels with another sprinter Windflower just off the pace. Turning into the straight these four were clear away from the field and at the furlong marker they were abreast. Sakba soon started to send distress signals, however, and Windflower ran out of stamina inside the last half furlong leaving Al Raai and Joshua Brown to battle it out. The head verdict meant Joshua Brown took his tally to seven out of twenty possible. Additionally this tough horse has been in the frame on three other occasions since he started racing in April 2011.
Owned and trained by Ms.Camilla Moberg and bred by Genberg & Co, the 5-y-o has now been wrapped up along with the other Purebred Arabians waiting for the main season to begin come April.
