Friday December 28, 2012, Jebel Ali ~ The only Purebred Arabian race on the card of six was the opening 1400m conditions race, the HH Sh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Breeders Society Challenge. Paul Hanagan was in the saddle on AF Lafeh who broke the track record (Purebred Arabian) for trainer Gill Duffield. Hanagan said, “We knew he had a decent chance and I was able to get a nice berth and everything basically went to plan.”

A Lafeh (Amer x Houriya Bouznika by Bartaba) is owned by Khalid Khalifa Al Nabooda. This first race of the day had 16 horses in the fray. The winning time was 01:33:16.
