
Rabah De Carrere last won a race in July 2009 at Kempton Park before coming to the UAE and has since run in ten Group 1 races and two others before Tagdh O’Shea scored a long-awaited win in Sunday’s Wathba Stud Farm Cup series being organized as part of the His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Flat Racing Festival.
In the last race, a Conditions event, Rabah De Carrere finished 7th to Nieshan but in Sunday’s Conditions race, which was a huge drop in class for the Group 1 campaigner, he finally scored to bring some smiles to Duffield’s face.
Rabah DE Carrere finished ahead of two Eric Lemartinel runners, Chase Me under David Smith and AF Qamoos under Patrick Cosgrave in the 11 furlong race which is open only to Private Owners.
Winning jockey O’Shea said: “He has a lot of ability this horse but it was a long time since he had won having contested some very good races and Gill found a good race for him to get his head back in front. Hopefully that will do his confidence the power of good and I am sure Gill be trying to find another good opportunity for him.” 

Faisal Saed Al Romaithi received the winning trophy on behalf of Rabah De Carrerefrom ’s owner Saeed Naswer Al Romaithi US Ambassador to the UAE Michael Corbin with Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Director of Communications Department at ADACH, Lara Sawaya, Director of the HH Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Flat Racing Festival and Adnan Sultan Al Nuaimi, Director General of Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club also in the prize giving party.
The Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Flat Racing Festival is organized by the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH) and co-ordinated by Abu Dhabi Sports Council in association with Emirates Arabian Horse Society and IFAHR, supported by Fegentri with Emirates airlines as the official carrier and sponsored by Invest AD, Al Rashid Investment, Areej Al Ameerat, Mauzan, Alasabeh Al Sihriya, Al Awani General Enterprises, Kabale, the UAE’s General Women’s Union, the Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy, Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition 2012, Wathba Stud Farm and Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club.
