Racing entries up for June 23 at Pleasanton California

Pleasanton – June 20, 2012 – Eight horses are entered for the California edition of the Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan al Nahyan Arabian Cup for Saturday June 23. Race 3 – 2:20 PM at the Alameda County Fair in Pleasanton. With many special activities surrounding the 100th year celebration of the Fair, this will be the place to watch this $20,000 six- furlong Arabian Stakes race.  Top three-year-olds + from around the USA will contend for the purse where every horse is a winner- 55% to the winner, 20% to second, 12% to third, 7% to fourth, 2% to fifth and sixth, and $200 to seventh through tenth. Weight. 124 Lbs. Fillies and mares allowed 3 Lbs.

Saturday’s 1st California running of the international stake HH Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Cup (G3) will be attended by members of the Board of the host organization, Arabian Racing Association of California, including Chairperson Susan Willis of Los Angeles, who has the mare PJ Miss Zuby entered in the stake. Also in attendance is the Chief Steward of the Arabian Racing Cup, Dr Ted Wright, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and fellow board members Denise Gault of California, Sue Meyer of North Carolina, and Michelle Morgan of Texas. The Arabian Jockey Club will be represented by Kathy Smoke of Michigan, President of the national organization, which is based in Denver, Colorado.  The race is supported by members of the Arabian Racing Association of California (ARAC), the Arabian Racing Cup (ARC) and the Arabian Jockey Club (AJC).


The Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Flat Racing Festival supports Arabian racing globally.
