Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed approves the 2012/2013 UAE racing season

   Dubai, UAE, 13 June , 2012 – His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan has approved the 2012/2013 UAE race fixtures schedule for the seasons at Jebel Ali Racecourse, Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club and Meydan Racecourse.

This season of racing in the United Arab Emirates will include a total of 46 days spread over the schedules for the three racecourses.

The racing season will open this year at Jebel Ali Racecourse with their first meeting scheduled for  Friday, November 2, 2012. There will be 11 fixtures during the season, with all racing held on Fridays. The season will conclude on March 22, 2013.

The Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club will start their season on Sunday, Novemer 4, 2012 and will feature 15 race meetings. Racing will be held on Sundays throughout the season with the closing day, March 17, 2013.

Meydan Racecourse will offer 20 days of racing during the 2012/2013 season. The opening day is set for Thursday, November 8, and the prestigious Dubai World Cup Carnival is scheduled to start on Thursday, January 10, 2013. The Dubai World Cup Carnival will celebrate its 10th running and will feature 11 fixtures during its season. The season will once again conclude with the 18th running of the Dubai World Cup, sponsored by Emirates Airline, to be held on Saturday, March 30. All Meydan race programmes are scheduled to begin at 6:30pm, with the exception of the DWC Carnival “Super Saturday” set for March 9, and Dubai World Cup Day that will both begin at 4:30pm.
