November 15, 2012, Doha ~ Trainer Alban de Mieulle hogged the days limelight by bagging three of the four Pure Arabian Guineas races. He combined with jockey Bouland to win with Fouladh, Muntasar, and later Tabarak completed the tally for the talented French trainer.
Sporting the colours of Umm Qarn, Fouladh set the track ablaze when showing a clean pair of heels to his rivals en route to a smashing victory in the local bred Pure Arabian Guineas. Fouladh with Bouland in the driver’s seat came smoothly in the home stretch to take charge of the running and the Mieulle ward never seemed to be in danger of being caught as he stepped up the pace on entering the straight. Stable mate Raedah came from way behind to take the second place ahead of long time leader Al Majd.
The trainer and jockey combination of Mieulle and Bouland completed their third win for the day when Muntasar easily won the Group III Pure Arabian International Guineas. After being held back in the fourth position, Muntasar had an unhindered passage while electing to come closer to the rails and skipped away from the rest inside the final 350 metres. Khattab beat Fath Elkheir for the second spot.
Trainer Mieulle led in his third winner with Tabarak recording a comprehensive victory in the second division of the Group III Pure Arabian International Guineas. Jockey Pier Convertino had Tabarak well settled in mid bunch as Ajab set a scorching pace. As the race took a serious turn, Tabarak was alerted to the task on hand. His response was immediate and he pounced on the leaders in a flash and sped away to win as he pleased.
“It has been quite a rewarding day for Umm Qarn and I pleased with the way our horses won today. It makes me more happy since we had winners from three of our stallions, Nizam, Majd Al Arab and Amer. Tabarak was impressive in his win and I look forward to the forthcoming classics,” trainer Mieulle told the Gulf Times.
