Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club to host the conference of the World Arabian Horse Organization (WAHO) for a second year following a successful WAHO conference in 2011.

Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, Emir of Qatar, the 10-day international event commencing on 10 November, 2014, will feature top class guest speakers on interesting topics as well as a full program of supplementary activities celebrating the cultural heritage of the Arabian horse including visits to some of Qatar’s major stud farms.
Racing and Equestrian Club Chairman, H.E. Sheikh Mohamed Bin Faleh Al Thani said, “It is a unique event for WAHO to have two successive Conferences in the same country and it is due to the unavoidable cancellation of Brazil 2013 that QREC has stepped in again.
“Arabian horses are a very important part of the cultural heritage of Qatar, where their history is intertwined with that of the Qatari people for centuries and we are delighted once again to have the opportunity to invite delegates from all over the world to celebrate this rich heritage.”
Qatar became a full member of WAHO in 1990, and since then there has been spectacular progress in the development of the Arabian horse in Qatar home to some 2,000 Arabians from all blood-lines and with approximately 250 new foals born each year.
