WMA Super Sport Wins Maiden at Retama Park

Full brothers take first and second


7 September 2019 – Wednesday, 4 September 2019 at Retama Park racetrack in Texas showed off two full brothers coming in first and second in the Maiden Special Weight of Six Furlongs On The Dirt. Win time was 1:26:01 for the $5,500 prize money race.

After taking the lead by the half, four-year-old WMA Red Sand under Dakota Wood was caught late by full brother three-year-old WMA Super Sport ridden aggressively by Ricci Delgado and the pair finished ahead. Third in was Jdzcashonzline ridden by Eliazar Vera.

WMA Super Sport (Sand Tiki Special x Springtyme Sally by MONARCH AH) is owned and trained by Jeffery C. Brooks and WMA Red Sand is owned by Stacy Ellerbe and trained by Rita DeLeon. Both horses were bred at Welcome Arabians by Rita De Leon.
